Understanding Clothing Sizes
Understanding clothing sizes can be a little tricky. There are 6 general clothing size categories:
- Baby marked with the letter M roughly relating to the age of a child in month
- Toddler marked with the letter T relating to the age of a child in years
- Small Kids sizes marked either by numbers 4, 5, 6 or letters: XS, S, M, L
- Big Kids sizes 7, 8,10,12,14,16 or letters: XS, S, M, L, XL etc.
- Junior (girls only) sizes marked with odd numbers: 1, 3 ,5, 7 etc.
- Adult Women – sizes marked with even numbers: 0, 2, 4, 6 etc or letters: XS, S, M , L, XL etc.
- Adult Men – numbers indicating waist size: 28, 30, 32 etc or letters: XS, S, M , L, XL etc.
Each size would have different measurements depending on the gender and the manufacturer.
Many vendors would offer different cuts for slim, regular or husky body type.
